Gary D Robinson,  still-life photographer picked up his first film camera in 1971. Through the years learning and studying photography, developing his skills with light,  technique and composition that often expresses his refined composition with his use of light and perspective to create a bit of the unexpected.

Mr. Robinson transitioned from film to digital media and continued his studies earning him diplomas in, Black and White Photography-"
Study  of Light", Scenic Photography - "Study of Nature" and Digital Photography -"Study of Technique". He also  has completed several on-line courses to further his knowledge and skills. Gary has written courses and taught photography classes for beginners and intermediate photographers and taught many students "one on one" sharing his talents and skills with others. He believes the photographers responsibility is to create "Art" that captures a viewers attention while striving to develop techniques that define an individuals style of photography.

Gary is a firm believer the person behind the camera should exhibit their talents and skills by the knowledge of their equipment rather than relying on editing software in post production of a photograph. He feels that electronic media and various photo editing software available today, causes photographers to become lax in their skills and not develop their talents with the camera to the fullest extent relying on software to correct mistakes instead of preventing those mistakes at the camera. He does think the use of photo editing software is an art form within its self when utilized in the correct context primarily in commercial photography for special effects.

With his unique perspective, Gary is able to capture his subject in many different angles and lighting producing a composition that defines his style of photography.  His work has been published in various publications throughout the years, from stock photographs to advertisements.

Mr. Robinson currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina.
